ACTION BRINGS RESULTS

Proverbs 6:10 A little extra sleep, a little more slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest
then poverty will pounce on you like a bandit; scarcity will attack you like an armed robber.
There was a time that king Benhadad of Syria went and besieged Samaria and there was a great famine in that city (2 Kings 6 & 7). The Prophet Elisha then declared a prophetic word: Thus saith the Lord, To morrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, *in the gate of Samaria.
We all know of how God used the four lepers to defeat the Syrians and end the siege of Samaria. The siege was preventing the smooth flow of goods and services into and out of Samaria leading to this hunger. Elisha then declared the miracle to occur at the markets in Samaria. However, the flour and the barley did not miraculously fall from heaven onto the markets of Samaria. It means there were men and women, business people of that day, who took advantage of the environment created by the prophecy and brought these goods to the market in Samaria.
The prophecy simply created a conducive environment for business to resume. It was the action of certain individuals that brought the goods to the market. Without this ACTION, there was still going to be a famine in Samaria even though the prophecy of plenty had been given. My point is, even though we are now in the season of fulfillment of prophecies, unless you get up from your bed each day and take advantage of the environment created by the prophecy, you will remain in the same state _then poverty will pounce on you like a bandit; scarcity will attack you like an armed robber.
