π IMPROVE YOUR RECORD
By Prophet TB Bondera
2Kgs.20.3 – “Remember now, O LORD, I pray, how I have walked before You in truth and with a loyal heart, and have done what was good in Your sight.” And Hezekiah wept bitterly.
It is always important to do good, both to people and in the Kingdom of God, knowing that one day, when the need arises, you may confidently ask God to remember your record.
When King Hezekiah knelt down to pray, he knew he had faithfully served God and had a record of positive and notable deeds in the House of the Lord. That is why he could boldly say, “Remember now, O LORD⦔
If you found yourself in a similar situation today, would you be proud to ask God to examine your record, or would you be ashamed of what He would find?
Sadly, for some of us, the only record we have in church is discouraging others, driving people out of departments, or creating unnecessary conflicts. Whenever there is a task to advance the work of God, we become sons and daughters of discouragement. Instead of inspiring others, we spread negative reports, convincing people that it cannot be done. If you truly believe something cannot be done, it is far better to remain silent than to discourage those whom God has inspired.
Others have turned church leadership into a political contest. Rather than using their positions to advance God’s Kingdom, they spend their time canvassing for support, pulling others down, interfering in responsibilities that are not theirs, and creating confusion in the ministry. Whenever there is a disciplinary hearing because of gossip or division, their names are always among the first to appear.
Let us not even search your record over the last fifteen years. Let us simply examine this month. Are you proud of what your record says?
While others faithfully contribute towards the financial responsibilities of the ministry, your name is nowhere to be found. Do you realize that your failure to participate, especially as a leader, can discourage others from giving and supporting the work of God?
My brother, my sister, with such a record, will you be able to stand before God in your day of trouble and confidently pray like Hezekiah:
“Remember now, O LORD, I pray, how I have walked before You in truth and with a loyal heart, and have done what was good in Your sight.”
