THE SECRET TO SUCCESS

1 Samuel 17:37 Moreover David said, “The LORD who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine”. And Saul said to David, “Go, and the LORD be with you!”
There are so many victories in life that God has given us but more often than not we fail to acknowledge the Hand of God in those victories. One secret that made David a great warrior was his ability to notice the Hand of God in each and every victory over his enemies.
As a result he was not afraid to face Goliath because he remembered his victories over the lions and the bears and knew he had not achieved these victories through his own might or power. He knew it was God who had given him these victories and that the same God was able to deliver him from this Philistine.
Many of us we attribute our past successes to our own intellect, to our own might or power. Thus when we meet our Goliath we accept defeat and surrender because we want to rely on our own intellect, might or power. Our own weaknesses are then exposed because Goliath cannot be defeated by the strength of David alone. It was through faith in God that David was able to ”stopped the mouths of lions…… became valiant in battle, turned to flight the enemies of the aliens”. (Heb. 11:33 -34).
Put your faith in God. Alone you cannot defeat this Goliath.
