GOOD OR BAD CELEBRATIONS

By Prophet T.B Bondera

Exod.32.18 – But Moses replied, “No, it’s neither a cry of victory nor a cry of defeat. It is the sound of a celebration.”

Paul in his epistles to Timothy talks about the good fight twice: 1Tim.6.12 – Fight the good fight for what we believe. Secondly in 2Tim.4.7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful.

If there are “good fights” automatically it also means there are “bad fights.” The same can also be said of celebrations. There are “good celebrations” and there are “bad celebrations”. Any celebration that brings honour and glory to oneself or to anything or anyone besides God can be termed a “bad celebration”. A typical example of a bad celebration is the celebration that Aaron and the children of Israel did in Exodus 32:6 as they offered offerings to the calf they had made. The Bible says “…they celebrated with feasting and drinking, and indulged themselves in pagan revelry.”

On the other hand a good example of a “good celebration” is the Passover celebration God commanded the children of Israel to do throughout the generations to come as they celebrate their deliverance from the land of bondage.

As we are in this season of festivities, celebrating the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ and the coming of the new year, let us remember to keep our celebrations good by returning all the Honour and Glory to God.

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE:

Deut.16.1 – “In honor of the LORD your God, always celebrate the Passover at the proper time in early spring, for that was when the LORD your God brought you out of Egypt by night.

DECLARATION:

I CELEBRATE ALWAYS IN YOUR HONOUR, LORD…!!!
