THE BEST CANDIDATE: Part 2

Judg.6.15 – So he said to Him, “O my Lord, how can I save Israel? Indeed my clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house.”
Many times when we want to do certain things that will push us closer to realise our destiny the devil will always come and give us an excuse to postpone until the next day, the next week, month or year. For example, how many times have you postponed going back to school, starting that project or pursuing that hobby?
Most of the time the excuses that the devil gives us are real and quite legitimate such as: this is not the right time, I do not have the money or I do not have the experience to run that business. But succeeding when the conditions are favourable is quite obvious. However we do not worship an obvious God. God wants you to take a step of faith where there are good reasons for you not to, so that when you succeed, the Hand of God may be seen.
The Bible is full of great men and women who had genuine and legitimate reasons not to do what God wanted them to do. We have Gideon in the above Scripture. Moses said I cannot because I stammer (Ex. 4:10). To Esther it was not the right time (Esther 4:11). However, because these individuals ultimately obeyed the Voice of God even though their excuses were valid, they succeeded and Glory was returned back to God.
Today you have every good reason not stand on the gap and build that altar to counter all evil altars in your family. However, that’s the very reason why God has chosen you. You are the best candidate to build that altar so that when the whole family is delivered, people may see the Hand of God.
