INTENTIONS OF THE HEART

Jer.17.10 – I, the LORD, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give every man according to his ways, According to the fruit of his doings.
The actual intentions or the actual state of one’s heart is revealed in times of adversity.
For example in a marriage, one partner’s state of the heart will be revealed in times of troubles such as sickness or loss of a job for the other partner. God also raises certain circumstances in our lives to search our hearts to seeif we are loyal, humble, faithful and obedient. Unfortunately for most of us we fail this test. When things are going well for us we fail to acknowledge the Hand of God in everything and start to think we did it through our own strength. When things are not moving we start to grumble and say God has forsaken us. We start questioning why we should continue coming to church or serving in the House of God when things are like this. At times when things are not moving well in our lives that’s when we serve God more but with ulterior motives of just wanting God to bless us and once that is done we go back to our usual lives.
God is searching for those who worship Him in truth and in Spirit, children whose love for Him is not determined by prevailing circumstances.
SCRIPTURE READING:
👉🏿Deut.8.2 – And you shall remember that the LORD your God led you all the way these forty years in the wilderness, to humble you and test you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not.
