ALTER THE ALTAR…
Early the next morning, as the people of the town began to stir, someone discovered that the altar of Baal had been knocked down and that the Asherah pole beside it was gone. In their place a new altar had been built, and it had the remains of a sacrifice on it. (Judges 6:28)

These two words “Alter and altar” are different words with different meaning altogether. When we “alter” we are basically changing the form or the structure. If there are clothes we are making them fit the person in question. Whereas “altar” is a high (or raised) scared or consecrated place in a temple or any place for offering sacrifices, worship, prayer, incantations, declarations, decrees, demands or just speak words which are either good, bad or evil for or against a deity or a person. It’s a place where one can humbly or show remorse before God and at the same time it’s a place where God can reveal Himself.
Altars in the Bible where also built to commemorate the Lord’s visit, answer(s), intervention or appearance thus, they were given names such as “The Lord is my Banner”, “El-Elohe-Israel” etc. Today it’s either you’re to alter the old altar or built a new altar.
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE:
👉Deuteronomy 12:3 Break down their altars and smash their sacred pillars. Burn their Asherah poles and cut down their carved idols. Erase the names of their gods from those places!
