ASK YOURSELF

2Kgs.7.3 – Now there were four leprous men at the entrance of the gate; and they said to one another, “Why are we sitting here until we die?”
The brain is a very powerful organ within our body because the thoughts that we allow to cross our minds have the power to influence our destiny. Whatever position or place that we are in life is a cumulation of our thought processes.
For you to make certain decisions or to take certain actions that push you towards your destiny (good news), you have to ask yourself certain tough questions that challenge the status quo. You have been planning to start that business for months or years now. Why have you not yet started? You have been contemplating getting a passport or driver’s license for a while. Why have you not taken the first step? You have been planning on that wedding or buying that stand, but somehow, you keep on postponing those plans. If you are not honest with yourself and ask yourself some tough questions, you will remain in the same position and never receive your good news. Today do some self introspection and give yourself some honest answers.
We do not know how many weeks or months or years the four men with leprosy had stayed in their situation at the entrance of the gate of Samaria. But what we know is that for their situation to change, they first asked themselves the question: “Why are we sitting here until we die?” They allowed their thoughts to question their current status and by so doing realised that they could do something to change their situation. They did not give their health condition as an excuse for not doing anything. Is the excuse you are giving in your life worse than the leprosy that these men had?
For you to receive the good news that you have been praying for, start off by asking yourself this question: “Why am I sitting here until I die?”
