AUTHORITY

Matt.28.18 – And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.You can not control or influence that which you have no power of rule over. For you to be able to influence something, you need to have authority over it. For the ministry of Jesus Christ to have power and influence over the whole world, God first had to give Jesus all the authority on earth and in heaven. And for us to be effective in the Great Commission that Jesus gave us, He also had to first give us all this authority in heaven and on earth that God had given Him. This means that as Christians, we were given authority over every area that you can think of, be it in the oil industry, the world politics, diamond and gold mining industry, banking, and every other significant sectors you can think of. We were given authority over those sectors so that we are able to make the leaders in those areas disciples of Jesus Christ. Or if the people in those positions are not willing to become disciples of Christ, the authority we were given gives us the power to remove them from those positions and place disciples of Christ on them. We need to have land barons, oil moguls, kings and queens, presidents, bank owners and many others who are disciples of Christ. Our lives as believers should not be a life of living on the crumbs that fall off the tables of the rich and famous. What then would be the purpose of having all the authority in heaven and on earth and still remain beggars. As Christians, we should be aggressive in our approach and ensure all influential positions in this world are occupied by disciples of Jesus. We were given the authority. It is time to exercise it.
