DEMONIC INFLUENCE (3)

Rom.12.18 – If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.
God expects us to do the best that we can to live in peace with everyone.
As much as it depends on us, we should never be the source of strife or conflict, but instead, we should be the peacemakers. One gift of the Holy Spirit that can help us in this quest is the gift of discernment.
An evil spirit can influence a genuine, loyal friend or family member to utter certain words or to take certain actions that may stir conflict. Unless the spirit of discernment reveals to us that the person remains a loyal person and what has drove them to take that course of action is not their intention but an evil spirit, we may end up being drawn into unnecessary conflict. For example, in your marriage or relationship, whenever an argument arises, allow this gift of discernment to reveal to you whether the person you are arguing with is still your partner or it is now a spirit speaking through them.
At one time, as Jesus Christ and Peter were in the middle of a discussion, the Bible says that, “He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan!” (Mat. 16:23). Jesus realised that it was no longer Peter speaking but the devil. Thus He did not rebuke Peter but the spirit speaking through him.
Once you allow the gift of discernment to guide you, you will start to realise that some battles are not worth fighting and some arguments are not worth engaging in. You will also start to realise that some people remain loyal, loving, and well-meaning despite their previous words or actions but were simply under the influence of demons when they said those things. This way, you will live at peace with almost everyone, building healthy relationships that God can use to deliver good news and great blessings to you.
TODAY’S MEDITATION
Rom.14.19 – Therefore let us pursue the things which make for peace and the things by which one may edify another.
