DESIRE THE SPIRIT OF GOD

John.7.14 – Then, midway through the festival, Jesus went up to the Temple and began to teach.
John.7.15 – The Jewish leaders were surprised when they heard him. “How does he know so much when he hasn’t studied everything we’ve studied?” they asked.
There are certain qualities and qualifications that the world expects one to possess in order for that person to achieve certain positions in this life. However, there are others who possess the same qualities and qualifications but who have failed dismally in everything that they have tried to do. On the other hand, we have people who have done exceptionally well without the required qualifications.
Today, in this world, we have women who are very beautiful according to the world standards who are failing to get married and yet we have others whom the same world considers not so beautiful but are happily married. Similarly, we have holders of several PhD. degrees failing to run certain companies successfully, and yet someone with a basic education is running a very successful business. Others started their businesses with millions, and yet the business closed, and yet someone today is running a multimillion dollar business that was started with a borrowed $100 note.
Education is very important and so is money. However, these world standards or measurements of success such as money, education, beauty, and connections, without the Spirit of God they are nothing. Above all else, above the requirements for success in this world, desire to have the Spirit of God. Jesus, because He had the Holy Spirit upon Him, without possessing the qualifications from the colleges, universities, or seminaries of those days, taught so well that even the learned Jews marvelled at the way He taught.

Matt.13.55 – Is this not the carpenter’s son? Is not His mother called Mary? And His brothers James, Joses, Simon, and Judas?
