LISTENING NOT HEARING

Matt.13.14 – And in them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled, which says: “Hearing you will hear and shall not understand, And seeing you will see and not perceive;
Most of the challenges we face day to day are a result of our own actions. We come to church every Sunday, we sing hymns, songs of praise and of worship, we hear the Preacher preaching the Word and we happily go back home and eagerly wait for the next service. Therein lies our problems as Christians. We HEAR the Word being preached to us but we do not LISTEN to the Word.
Hearing is simply the sound of something coming into our ear drums. For example, when you are walking down the road you can hear the sound of a truck passing by but you can not say I am listening to the sound of the truck. This is exactly how most of us treat the Word of God when it is being preached to us and as a result it does not transform us in any way. Listening involves absorbing the sound coming into your ears, digesting it, storing it in your heart and mind for immediate or future use and allowing the knowledge gained to transform you into a better person.
Unknowingly, most of us today, we are merely fulfilling the prophecy given thousands of years ago by the Prophet Isaiah quoted by Jesus in the Scripture above. In this month of Solidifying our Spiritual Foundation refuse to be the one to fulfill that prophecy.
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
👉🏿Job.33.14 – For God may speak in one way, or in another, Yet man does not perceive it.
DECLARATION:
I refuse to fulfill the prophecy in Isaiah 6:9….!!!
